Spotlight: Kamva Diniso - Serving Through Logos Hope
This week, we shine the light on Kamva Diniso, a University of Forthare student from Mthatha, who has brought her passion for service and love for cooking to the decks of Logos Hope, the floating book fair. Despite her studies in East London at the University of Fort Hare, Kamva seized the opportunity to join Logos Hope's volunteer program after learning about the ship's mission during a church visit.
Kamva's journey to becoming a volunteer wasn't without its challenges, but through faith and determination, she successfully navigated the application process and found herself aboard the ship. Embracing the diverse community on Logos Hope, Kamva has immersed herself in the unique experiences of fellow crew members from around the world, exchanging stories and perspectives that have broadened her worldview.
Assigned to the Galley, or kitchen department, Kamva has discovered a newfound joy in cooking while working alongside experienced chefs. Despite initially expressing interest in the Book Fair department, Kamva's placement in the Galley has proven to be a perfect fit, allowing her to hone her culinary skills and gain valuable experience for her future endeavors.
Beyond her departmental duties, Kamva actively participates in C-days, where she engages with visitors and assists in various ship activities. Her commitment to serving others reflects her Christian values, as she finds fulfillment in humility, obedience, and joyful interaction with her fellow crew members and visitors alike.
As Kamva continues her journey on Logos Hope, she remains grateful for the blessings and friendships she has found aboard the ship. Her experience serves as a testament to the transformative power of service and the impact of stepping out of one's comfort zone to embrace new opportunities. We celebrate Kamva's dedication and look forward to witnessing the continued growth and blessings in her journey aboard Logos Hope.
May Kamva's story inspire us all to embrace service and seek opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others, wherever our journeys may lead.
